This year’s Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipation Summit is coming soon.
Hosted at CERN, from 15 to 17 October, under the theme of “Use the future to build the present”, the Summit is the world’s leading platform for anticipatory science and diplomacy.
This year’s theme, The Age of Possibility: Science, Sovereignty, and Shared Futures, reflects the urgent questions of our time: How can shared environmental systems be governed? Can diplomacy stay ahead of dual-use risks? How do we ensure science benefits all, not just the powerful?
With a rich programme of40 sessions and 80 speakers, the Summit provides a unique space to explore, discuss, and act on these questions, with a focus on identifying collective responses to the opportunities emerging from frontier science.
Participants can expect:
- Anticipatory briefings from world-renowned scientists and academics on topics identified by GESDA’s Science Breakthrough Radar®, spanning the next 5, 10, and 25 years.
- Interactive discussions with global decision-makers about the impact of scientific and technological breakthroughs on society, people, and the planet.
- Closed-door workshops to advance GESDA’s most mature initiatives, including quantum technologies, space diplomacy, ecoaugmentation, and more.
- Political assessments from international leaders on their role in fostering anticipatory science and diplomacy.
- Experiential demonstrations and simulations, offering hands-on insights into future technologies and governance scenarios.
All the sessions of the Summit will be live streamed.
