Science Anticipation Projects & PMO Manager

Andrea Alonso-Allende is Manager within the Science Anticipation team at GESDA, working at the intersection of science, strategy and execution. Her role focuses on strengthening planning structures, portfolio visibility and the frameworks for effective delivery across a multi-stakeholder portfolio of projects and activities.

She brings clarity on priorities, resources, risks and dependencies by developing structured workflows, monitoring tools and data-driven insights to inform decision-making. She also leads the PMO Forum, which aims to strengthen transversal alignment, shared portfolio management practices and more scalable ways of working across GESDA.

Before joining GESDA, Andrea worked on international cooperation projects and public-private partnerships in Spain, and later spent almost a decade at EPFL, the coordinator institution of the Human Brain Project Flagship, one of Europe’s largest research infrastructure initiatives. Her experience spans programme management, governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement and delivery of complex international initiatives. She holds a degree in Business Management and a Master’s in International Economic Relations, and is certified in PRINCE2, Agile Programme Management and Managing Successful Programmes.
